Thank you to everyone who put forward Nigerians doing serious, measurable and lasting work. The 2026 cycle has now moved into review, research and verification.

What happens now

From nomination to independent assessment.

The Secretariat is reviewing submissions, validating evidence and building the longlist for independent assessment. Public voting does not determine the outcome.

Eligibility review
Submissions are checked for eligibility, completeness and alignment with one of the five pillars.

Research & verification
Claims, achievements and measurable outcomes are verified using credible evidence and, where needed, direct candidate information.

Independent assessment
Qualified reviewers assess candidates against the published recognition standard and disclose conflicts of interest.

Private confirmation
Selected candidates are contacted privately before the public unveiling of the 2026 Liberty Honours class.

No. There is no nomination or selection fee, and honourees are not required to sponsor the Fellowship. Any support through the Liberty Fellows Circle is entirely voluntary and has no influence on recognition.
